Haven’t seen this one yet, but I like the pitch. I presume Art & Copy is mostly about advertising and where marketeers get their constant inspiration from. There is a screening in Amsterdam later this week in the SMART Project space.
Although I’m not much of a gamer the discovery Samorost 2 and more recently Osmos (see video below) makes me want to play games. The creators of Osmos call their game an ambient game. And this type of game attract me — as a non-gamer — much more. I imagine these type of games is also in someway stimulated by the rise of the new game-consoles: the smartphone.
The gaming-experience fits me much better than lets say World of Warcraft or Grand Theft Auto. Plus it allows me to play a game as a small break. Just like Windows Solitaire.
The Indie Love Bundle Some days ago on St.Valentine a group of Indie game-developers bundled their games together and offered them as The Indie Love Bundle. The campaign is closed now, but what a strong and original marketing effort. I hope it made them a bit more independent.
The other day I’ve found Flavors.me, a tool which gives everybody a good looking website. No more power to the CSS- and Flash-guru’s. Or at least a little bit less. It appears to be in beta, but you can request an invite-code. If you want an online lifestream no programming, you’ll better ask for it.
Their official pitch:
Flavors.me allows anyone to create an elegant, single-page website using personal content from around the Internet. It automatically organizes all kinds of information – photos, videos, blog posts, status updates, music listening habits, travel plans, resume details – into a constantly growing, interactive visual montage.
Most people working in the field of branding already know these books — but for those who don’t I highly recommend them. I’ve embedded both books as presentations below. The book are written by Marty Neumeier and explain what branding is in great clear visual way (i.e. very little to read).
Today I received an email from a friend telling me about Fritzing. Probably my friend wasn’t aware of the fact I have never heard of the word PCB. So I’ve started with some research. A quick Google search with `define: PCB´ gave me these results:
Communist Party of Bolivia (Marxist-Leninist)
Printed Circuit Board or electronics board;
For the moment lets forget the Communist Party of Bolivia, we can talk about it another time. This time it is about printer circuit boards.
