Just by a random internet wandering I stumbled upon La Citta Mobile. A project/collective based in Eindhoven which stimulate creative disciplines to meet and share ideas on how construct and deconstruct a temporary city. Hence the title la citta mobile, the mobile city. (The yearly exodus of Dutch designers to Milan for the Salone del Mobile is clearly leaving its traces)

La Citta Mobile is currently exhibiting on the Dutch Design Week 2010 (until 31th of October) — which I hope to visit. On their blog I found an interesting video, of which I’ve pasted a short trailer below. The full documentary can be found on powerofcommunity.org.

It is since months I’m following with great curiosity the social/sustainability movements which are being formed around the world. From ‘guerilla gardening‘ to Beppe Grillo talking about auto-producing energy and selling abundant energy back to the ‘network’. Today I’ve found a documentary by the ‘transition towns‘ movement. A transition town being a town designed to be ‘resilient’ against oil depletion, and which has a significant lower carbon emissions. From what I’ve understood the movement is about sharing information and techniques on how to establish a transition town — in the hope to change the world.
