As is more or less the norm for Dutch students studying a too large a portion of their life, I had a study loan. This loan allowed me to attend a Master-course in Italy. The average debt for Dutch students currently graduating is 12.500 € (~17.000 $).

Due to serious belt tightening and financial diligence I was able to pay off my debt in almost 3 year. Now I am completely free of bank loans. It makes me literally less burdened. One problem less, 99 more to go. And luckily new forms of capitalism are emerging.

Bank accountLast but not least I canceled my bank account where I had my loan, and switched to a different bank. Good riddance.

Instead of complaining about the current currency why not look ahead? Or as my dear friend so beautifully reminded me today:

Complaining is silly.
Either act or forget.

This weekend I’ve downloaded a free copy of the book called Focus. It’s about:

It’s about finding simplicity in this Age of Distraction.

It’s about finding the focus you need to create, to work on what’s important, to reflect, to find peace.

Go and download or buy it on zenhabits.net.

(I’ll go back to reading it now — for that I have to disconnect I believe)
