As is more or less the norm for Dutch students studying a too large a portion of their life, I had a study loan. This loan allowed me to attend a Master-course in Italy. The average debt for Dutch students currently graduating is 12.500 € (~17.000 $).
Due to serious belt tightening and financial diligence I was able to pay off my debt in almost 3 year. Now I am completely free of bank loans. It makes me literally less burdened. One problem less, 99 more to go. And luckily new forms of capitalism are emerging.
Last but not least I canceled my bank account where I had my loan, and switched to a different bank. Good riddance.
